Dr. Bush is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He has internationally-recognized expertise in the neuropathophysiology and psychopharmacological treatment of ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders; as well as in the brain processes underlying attention, cognition, emotion and anxiety. Following his graduation from SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in 1990 and his Psychiatric Chief Residency at Stony Brook University Hospital in 1994, Dr. Bush completed two clinical research fellowships. The first was a Harvard/MGH clinical research training program in biological and social psychiatry. In recognition of his second two-year Harvard-MIT clinical investigator fellowship, he was granted an additional Master’s Degree in Medical Science from Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Bush has more than two decades of clinical experience treating patients of all ages in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, consult-liaison, crisis units and both psychiatric and medical emergency rooms. Dr. Bush is a member of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and serves on the Editorial Board of the journal, Biology of Mood & Anxiety Disorders. As the Director of Neuroimaging at the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind-Body Medicine at MGH, he gained an appreciation for complementary forms of treatment such as meditation and relaxation response training. With 50+ publications in medical-scientific journals and books, Dr. Bush’s goal is to translate cutting-edge advances of brain imaging and neuropsychopharmacology research into compassionate, individualized treatments for patients in need.

Consultation and limited private practice services are available by appointment only. These include diagnostic, psychopharmacologic and psychotherapeutic services for children, adolescents and adults.
